In early April of 2015, my friend Bruno and I decided to build a chair. With our limited knowledge of woodworking, we challenged ourselves to construct this seemingly simple piece of furniture over the weekend, and film the process. It seemed ambitious at the time, but neither of us imagined that it would be three hundred and seventy days before the chair was complete.

As that weekend turned into a year, the film became a diary of sorts. We would film and edit as we worked, piecing together dovetails and scenes alike, recording endless takes of voiceovers until we were sure it would be perfect.

Today, the film stands as a document of our childhood, and the chair sits in my bedroom. It is one of the most comfortable pieces of furniture I have sat on.
